    1. [INBOONE-L] Lewis Songer md. Nancy Fletcher
    2. Lewis Songer married Nancy Fletcher 24 Nov 1864 in Decatur Co, Ind. I have finally found this family in the 1880 census. They are in Boone co, Indiana with a daughter, Martha E. born abt 1869. Seeking further information on this family. When and where did Lewis and Nancy Songer die? Did Martha marry? Lewis Songer was born about 1829 in Indiana, the son of John Songer and Mary Askren. Thank you, Kathleen Rizer

    2. Willard Anderson
    3. List, Thank you for your prompt responces. I may be chasing the wrong William Jones. The data should have had him born in Indiana and his parents born in Ohio. But allowing for the errors I have run into census data in the past, he might be the right one. I know some of the family extended into Jackson township from Union and Eagle townships. So know I have a target to see who might be close by in the census. Thank you for the great help. Willard Anderson Cloverdale, Oregon

    2. Mary Anne Cook
    3. Hi Carol, I have not found the parents of Mary Bollinger yet. She m. my GGGGrandfather John Byroad and had 9 sons, one of whom was Enos Byroad, who was my GGGrandfather. he m. Nancy Brumbaugh and had abt 8 children, one of whom was Thomas Neal Byroad, who was my GGrandfather. He m. Susan Ullery and had 5 children the youngest being my Grandmother Ople "Pansy" Byroad, she m. Lanus William Purdue and had my Mother Sarah Sue Purdue. She m. William R. Cook and had 5 children the oldest being Me. There were Large's in the Byroad Family, Margaret Large m. one of the 9 Byroad boys from John and Mary Bollinger Byroad, and Aaron B. Large who m. Cynthia Byroad, cousin to my grandmother Pansy. I recently found John and Mary on the 1860 Bond County, Ill census, after some kind person here gave me the information, but have not been able to find Mary on any other census I have checked. I am looking for when she died and where she is burried. Also for parents and siblings. GGGGrandpa John is burried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana. There is a Mary Byroad burried in the old, now closed, Cedar Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana, and I am trying to find out if that is my Mary Bollinger Byroad. so far I have had no luck. I asked the ladies at Oak Hill if they had a record of A Mary Byroad being burried in Cedar Hill, but they don't have that record. I have been told, however, from someone researching the old cemetery, that there is indeed a Mary Byroad burrried there. Sure would love to break this major brick wall. She seems to have been born, married, had children, and died and left no path to search as far as parents and siblings, date and place of death, and burial. I do know she was b. between 1809 and 1813 in Ohio. The 1860 census has her being b. 1812/13, but my record says 1809. The 1860 census has GGGGrandpa John being b. 1803 in Ohio, but my records have him being b. 1803 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, as does the records of all cousins found in the last 6 years that I have been doing researching. Can you help? Maybe I can help you with her descendants. 3. Hi Kim, Would it be too much trouble to get a full reading on all of them? Maybe a little at a time if it would be better. I do know that all of them are mine. I am still searching for GGGGrandma Mary Bollinger Byroad. I am now thinking she may have died in Darke County, Ohio before they moved to Boone County, Indiana. I asked The ladies at Oak Hill Cemetery, one of them being a cousin, her grandmother was Cynthia Byroad cousin to my Grandmother Pansy Byroad, and they said they had no record there of there being a Mary Byroad being burried in Cedar Hill cemetery. Guess they must not have full records then. I checked the census for 1870 in Boone County, Indiana and could not find Mary Bollinger Byroad listed there with GGGrandpa John Byroad, I could not find her on the 1880 Boone County, Census either. I did however find him living with the brother of susan Ullery and his wife. This is a real brick wall that I think is time to break down. Is there any way I can find out if she did indeed die in Ohio instead of Indiana before they all moved here? I really need to get to Lebanon to do some research there in the library. Is there any way I can get into the library on my scooter? It is really hard for me to walk far as I have osteoarthritis bad and also have breathing problems. Since I cannot take anything for the arthritis I have to suffer with the pain and therefore cannot walk far or stand very long. If I can get into the library maybe I can check the Darke County Ohio census for 1860 and see if she is listed on it and also the Darke County, Ohio census for 1870, that is if you have all the state censuses. I usually check them when I go to Fort Wayne, as they have all of them there, but Lebanon is closer. If I can get into the library on my scooter, I will come this next week one day. 3. For those new to the roots web and those of you veterans I would like to say that there are many folks who subscribe that are willing to do what they can to help others in their research. I, myself do Volunteer research at Andersonville Civil War Prison in Andersonville Georgia. There are Any research I do is absolutely at NO cost and I am willing to do what I can. There are 1743 prisoners of war on record from the state of Indiana and about 700 who died here, I thought I would send my offer. I also do the research for any prisoners from any state that were here. Here are my sources of research. There are 2 online databases to do lookups.....One by name...one by Company and Regiment. I also have a copy of the Dorence Atwater Death list which has the names and grave numbers of 12960 graves with only 460 marked as " UNKNOWN " This along with a CD I have which contains 34,000 names of the 45,000 who were imprisoned there which helps me find prisoner records because of mispellings of the names or alternate names. I visit the prison site every couple of weeks and have access to the onsite databases as well as the physical files. Please do not concider this spam as my research offer is FREE for the asking and will be posted on this county site only once. If there is anything I can do in helping your research at Andersonville, please just ask.
