Let's see if you get this.
Since you mentioned Cason cemetery: Mark Davis spoke to our Morgan Co History and Genealogy Association tonight and brought slides which included restoration work being done on this cemetery, only partly completed. I suspect help by family might be appreciated in getting some more stones reset and repaired. It's pretty much a hands-on thing. I know many descendants live too far away, but some might be close and choose to give a day or two to the project. Mark can be reached on the INPCRP (Indiana Pioneer Cemetery Restoration Project) list. Did you mean to send this to me?? Was it because of the Robinson?? Just wondering, Rita I talked with Julie on Sunday. She was tired-her sisters had been there visiting again over the weekend. Dad had played poker and was feeling better. We will check out the RV park next time we are in Palm Springs. Barbara finally put the "For Sale" sign today. John doesn't like her now-it is a longgg story-so she is to deal with only me now!! Stacey has been working hard on her room-looks nice-again. I almost have my closet cleaned out about ready to move to next closet. Cats are not thrilled with traveling with us or staying in the closet. Barbara is having open house on Saturday and Sunday. I explained to her that we would be here since we use that time to work on appraisals and set up appointments!! This could prove to be interesting. I measured the distance from our present home to one we may purchase-4.7 miles away in Indian Wells.... Did I send you pics of it?? All for now, Need to get busy. Hi Mickey I am a Robison with out the N in the middle. Get back to me at Robisonl@aol.com...........I was born in Lebanon, in 1942
Hello list, I am glad to see a little activity on this list for a change, so I thought I'd post the families I'm working on in Boone County. I'm seeking CASONs, particularly the descendants or ancestors of John Cason, b. in Laurens, SC in the 1790s (son of Thomas Cason and Mary Neill, originally of Virginia--Thos. b. 1759). John and his brother Samuel married BURCKHALTER sisters and moved to Boone County around 1830, settling near Thorntown. I'm also seeking relatives of Mary ROBINSON/ROBISON, b. in Northern Ireland in about 1846. Mary married Oliver CASON, son of John (above). Mary was the daughter of James and Mariah ROBISON, who emigrated in about 1849/1850, via Liverpool and New Orleans. Also seeking relatives/searchers of Rowland ROGERS, John ROGERS' father. Rowland died in the 1840s and had come from Kentucky with Alexander ROGERS, his brother, but I don't know if they were born there. May have been from Ohio, where Rowland's first wife, Asenath Jane RAMSEY was from. All of these lived in the townships bordering with Clinton Co., in an area from Thorntown to Mechanicsburg and Pike's Crossing. If any of these names rings a bell please let me know...I feel like I've burned out the Boone Co. sources, but hope to find someone who has other connections! Mickey Rogers Indianapolis, IN. (ROGERS, CASON, ROBINSON/ROBISON, SHEPARD, BURCKHALTER, RAMSEY, STRANGE, STRAIN in Boone County, Indiana)
Hi Cheryl, Thanks so much for writing. I have actually seen this David in records before, as I was searching PA. It has occurred to me that it is a big possibility there is a connection. Can you tell me if your McLeans stayed in PA ? Or even the next generation or two? Have you ever found a connection to Indiana in your line? This is definitely worth exploring further. Looking for information on my g-g-grandfather Fred Goodwin (b. Abt 1875 Lebanon). He married Mary Allison Dec. 20, 1899 in Plainfield, IN. I've been told Fred was the son of Enoch G. Goodwin, Jr. (b. 22 Jun 1823 KY & d. 1909 Marion Co., IN) and Nancy E. Martin (b. Abt 1840 & d. 27 Jul 1895 Royalton, Boone Co., IN). They were married June 15, 1865 in Boone Co. I have had other researchers give me information on Enoch, but most feel his parents were Enoch Goodwin (b. 8 Jun 1788 PA & d. 1877 Nicholas Co., KY) and Sarah Hopkins (b. 9 Aug, 1789 NJ & d. Bef 1860). I would like as much information on Fred and his ancestors as possible. After Mary's death, their daughter Edna Geneva Goodwin was adopted by Charles Cain & Emma (Pike) Allison. I was told that Fred remarried and that his new wife was Native American. No one knows what happened to him after that. Any information would be appreciated. I'm also interested in marriage, death & birth certificates and photographs. I've never been able to find out when Mary Allsion Goodwin died or where she was born. Thank you, Kim Nguyen
