Katie, Reading farther in my mail, I did get the two postings from the descendants of John Forguson that were on the Boone Co list. I guess I shouldn't respond to anything until I have actually gone through everything for the day! Sandy
Katie, Thanks for forwarding the query about John Forguson. I'm glad to see you are still getting the Boone-L correspondence. I thought I was still on the list, but I didn't get the one you forwarded, so maybe I'm not anymore. Let me know if I need to also contact Thelma. I did NOT get all the Ferguson info entered. As usual, got sidetracked. This time I have been printing Ahnentafel reports for my sister and brother and kids. I do have the direct line info entered, but need to fill out the affiliated families of siblings, etc and embellish the notes with Obits, Bible records, etc. It has been very slow doing these reports. They are each about 750 pages, and I have been copying photos to stick in there, which is a whole 'nuther' line of things to sort through and prepare. Nothing goes very smooth. In addition, I got a nice package of 37 documents on Kent's ancestry from the Litnuanian Archives (took 2 1/2 years). It expands his ancestry 4 generations. They only looked up the direct line families and all their children, but did not go into the children's children, as we do. I wish I could read Lithuanian, Polish, Russian and Hebrew. Would love to see the archives there. When I look at the records, my mind jumps to all the kinds of things I would explore if the documents were here. Has Thelma gotten back to you? What is her line from John? We did birthdays for Kathy and Jenny (our twins) and Kat's husband Mark last night. They all have birthdays next week. Was a nice gathering and we played the "farm game" after dinner. Was a nice change. We usually play cards, but the family is getting so big, and the kids are now getting big enough to want to be included that we have to set up 2 tables for cards and switch tables halfway through the game. I remember I always wanted to be included when my parents played cards with their friends, and the most I did was they would let me do their hand if they had to go to the bathroom or something. We are going to Osh Kosh again this year. driving. Only for 3 days, from Sunday through Wednesday. I will spend the days with Vivian again. We will leave early to be in Missouri to visit some cousins and for a family reunion on my dad's side. I don't know any of the people that will be there, but it is at least in the same town where the cousins live. Good to hear from you. Hope you & Tom are well and keeping busy and warm. We are still digging out from the snow. Lots of tree damage that needs to be cut up and hauled away and then the trees are going to need a professional to come in and try to save them. Sandy

Yes, Thelma, some really good research has been done on John Ferguson by Richard Oyler and published in his family history named "Ancestors (and some descendents)". I am descended from John through his son William and grandson John Henry Ferguson who migrated to Benton Co, IA about 1853. How are you connected? If you want to exchange information please write me at katydid@tznet.com. I have a few old pictures that have Nay Photographers & Fine Art Gallery both were in Lebanon, IN. Any info on these two companies would be very helpful. I'm wanting to know if some other company bought them out or if they just went out of business. Please contact me, if you have any information on them. Thanks
Looking for info on Walter B Rader, supposedly died in 1954 at age 84. Wife was Lillie F. Rogers who died in 1910. Appreciate any info on Walters death date and location of burial and Lillie's burial location.
Hello, I am researching Burns, also. Can you tell me more of where your line comes? Mine is Torrence, his Father John. And THERE it stops. Many, many John Burns. There was a large family, went to all states as far as we can determine. Mine is from Virginia, part that later became Kentucky. I knew a Gordon Burns, but can't remember [just now] when he died. He was not of my Burns line, but I do know his Family and can get that info. I also am in touch with two other Burns researchers which have more info than I do. If you think I can help, let me know. Have you ordered his pension papers from the National Archives? That should verify his regiment. Donna VWhite0901@aol .com To: INBOONE-L@rootsweb.com cc: 03/09/03 10:39 Subject: [INBOONE-L] Need help for Civil War info for Boone AM Co./Baldwin Please respond to INBOONE-L I hope someone with access to this information can double check something for me. I'm writing a book about my ancestors in the Civil War and the information I had rec'd about my GGgrandfathers brother is conflicting. This is what I rec'd: According to the Boone Co. Old Soldiers Book...... John Baldwin Rank: private Company/Regiment: Company C, 150th infantry Residence: Boone County Date of Muster: 15 Feb 1865 Remarks: mustered out 5 Aug 1865 ======================= Early Life and Times of Boone County, pub. 1887 by Harden & Spahr--found John Baldwin Pvt. Co. C, 150th infantry, residence was Boone County, entered Feb. 15, 1865, mustered out Aug. 5, 1865. 1894 Pension List, Center Twp., Boone Co.- John Baldwin, Pvt. Co. C, 159th Ind. Vol. Address: Lebanon, IN, no children under 16 listed. Suffered with chronic diarrhea (?) So as you can see, it lists Co. C 150th and 159th?? Was this a typo in the correspondense? Which one is the correct Unit? If anyone can help straighten this out I would appreciate it. N.J.Skinner White vwhite0901@aol.com "Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past." C from Boone County. I dont know that what you have is a typo or not.... but one good question to try and find out is if John Baldwin inlisted twice.. Are you sure he didn't re~inlist or transfer......later.. after the war? I am not sure how this works with the re~listing but it is an idea to think about Just thought I would run this by you since our grandfathers were inlisted in the 150th for a short time. Hi Kim Do you have any other witts that name dont sound familer Rhonda
Recently the surname of Strain has come up in the discussion of the Casons, Witts, and Kernodles. I have a William Warder Strain born 24 Jan 1827 in Highland County, Ohio. I have a reference he returned to Boone County and passed away there. He married Esther Elizabeth Powers in Montgomery County, Indiana on 9 Apr 1854. The family moved to Iowa in Tama County. One daughter Jeanette married Isaac Monroe Davenport son of Joel Davenport of the Boone County Davenports. Any connections?
Mickey These Families also tie in with the Witts which i have from Michael the 1st from germany on down to me about six generations Rhonda
