    3. There is another history of Boone Co. You might check on line. Put "Indiana biographies" in a Google search and see what you get. The two-volume set of Boone Co history that I saw yesterday at the Lebanon library started with an "S". It's been indexed. The local history librarian encouraged patrons on site to email her with questions. I suggest you try this by going to her web site. There are 5-6 Boone Co histories or directories that are indexed. 3. It is the same one. Got the year wrong.Jacob is not James' father? There is a mention of a Jacob and Lucinda Archer Jones who had a dau Mary Jane that married John Freemont Miller in a Boone History of 1984. Is this part of the line you are researching? I found this in a genealogy file in Roseburg, Oregon, placed there by another Jones researcher. It went into Jacob Jones, Sr. and Jacob Jones, Jr.'s family. I am interested in the history you have cited. Where can I get access to it? Willard Anderson Cloverdale, Oregon

    3. Thank you for your help, James Jones in the 1870 Census, Home 325, 59 born OH is the person I am interested in. He married Charity Dains 30 Oct 1841 in Boone County. I have traced him through the 1850, 1860, and 1870 Census. He remarried to a cousin Phoebe Stoneking on 14 Jan 1855 in Boone County. I assume that Charity died sometime between 1850 when she was in the Census and his second marriage. Phoebe shows up in the 1880 census as a widow. So sometime between 1870 and 1880 he died. Between both wives he had 10 children found in the census'. The rest of his siblings and father came to Oregon in 1852 except for his brother Jacob Jones, Jr. who lived in Boone County until 1900 when he died. Tracing their children is difficult as by the 1800 census most had married or moved and identifying Jones with common given names is problematic. The ones I have traced stayed mainly in Union Twp, Eagle Twp around Zionsville, on or near the Hamilton, Boone County line and later in Jackson Twp. Slowly I have pieced there lines together, but James family is my weakest line of research. Willard Anderson Cloverdale, Oregon

    3. I have a copy of EARLY WILL RECORDS OF BOONE CO.,IN 1833-1879 By Boone Co. Historical Society . No Thomas Goldsberry listed. Doesn't mean there isn't anything, however. There is mentioned a Celia M Goldsberry, wife of Matthias; a Robert Goldsberry,a Caroline E. Goldsborough and a Harrison J Goldsbury. 3. Hi Kim, Thank you for your reply. The name: Anderson Stephen CARPENTER b. 1809/1810 possibly December 25 or about, d. April 22, 1897 in Thorntown, Boone Co., Indiana Book R-15 page 41 Also searching for his wife, Mary Polly CARPENTER b. abt. 1819 d. aft. 1880. Then again, may have died to early to find a record of it. What I am hoping to find is possibly the names of parents for Anderson and hopefully his wife's maiden name. I am 99% sure that this is the Anderson I have been trying to place. I appreciate any help you may be able to do for me. 3. Hello Fellow list members, I am hoping that someone may be able to help me here... Would like to know if anyone knows who I may be able to call in regards to death certificates for 1897. I tried to call the Health department and was unable to reach anyone except for an answering machine which I left a message, but no one returned my call. It has been almost a week now and I am a bit lost. I was hoping to find out before I ordered the certificate, if there was any information on it which may be of aid to me. I have ordered certificates in the past only to have basic information on them that I already had...praying this one will not be the same case. If someone has a number to get ahold of a real live person to inquire about this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.... Laurie Carpenter

In the 1870 census the family is listed as : Haworth,George W 47yr miller Penn Caroline 38yr OH Sarah 17 IN Elizabeth 14 IN Katie 11 IN John 8 IN Caroline 5 IN Georgina 1 IN Caroline (Kirk) Haworth (Geo's wife) is the sister of John Kirk, Isaac Kirk and Elisha E Kirk who all moved to Sugar Creek with their families in the 1860's. John Kirk and his wife Louisa (Ahle) Kirk later moved to Montgomery Co IN and lived in Sugar Creek in Montgomery Co. Do cemetery books exist for Boone Co - especially for the Sugar Creek township area? I would like to check and see if George & Caroline Haworth and some of their children area buried there.
