Page 212: Pertaining to the Douglas W. Campbell family: ".....Doug was born in Lebanon, Indiana, Boone Co., on October 31, 1942, to Helen Joan Witt Campbell and Robert M. Campbell......His maternal grandparents are Tressie Mae Mc Claine WITT and the late James Franklin WITT...." There is a total of 13 paragraphs on the Douglas W. Campbell family. Page 213: Pertaining to the Robert M. & Helen J. Campbell family...."Helen Joan, daughter of Tressie (McClaine) (1898) and James F. Witt (1897-1979) was born at Witham Hospital (12-14-20) in Lebanon. With the exception of her first three years, she has always lived in Lebanon. ...Paternal grandparents were Ida Belle (Dowden) (1868-1952) and Jasper Wallace Witt (1868-1923). She has one sister, Alada Rose, wife of Jack P. Alexander. All of Helen's family have been lifelong residents of Boone County...." Her husand, Robert, has served as Mayor of Lebanon and is a registrar at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the month of May and Helen is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. All in all, there are 9 large paragraphs on the family and their children. Page 301: Pertaining to the Wendell and Joan Iddings family: Wendall Byron Iddings after serving three years in the U.S. Navy, moved to Lebanon, IN. "...He married Thelma Jean Witt. They had one son, Neal R. Iddings...." He later married Treva Joan Rehm. No mention is made of the first wife's other than above. Page 346: Pertaining to the Forrest M. Moore Family: ".....In 1965, we bought two acres of land from Mr. & Mrs. Ivan A. Witt in the southeastern part of Boone County on West 96th Street....." Page 392: Pertaining to the Robertson Family:"....Ronald D. Robertson is married to Donna Louise Smith, daughter of Donald Edward and Mary Louise (WITT) Smith. Ron and Donna have two children. Gregory Dean Robertson, July 21,1972 and Sheri Lynn Robertson, February 9,1970...." There are 13 paragraphs on the Robertson family. Page 394: Pertaining to the Samuel M. and Mildred L. Rodgers."...Mildred was the third daughter born to Frank 6-19-1871 and Zella (Eckert) Lane 9/1/1883. They lived on a farm south of Lebanon on old 52 where her parents lived all their married life, along with Mildred's sisters Eva (Lane) Trimble 8/17/1906 and Florence (Lane) WITT 2/24/1908......" From History of Boone County Indiana compiled in 1984 by Boone County Historical Society and Friends: Page 10: "Joaquin Miller, 'The Poet of the Sierras,' who died a number of years ago in California, was once a barefoot boy on the streets of Lebanon. With his mother, he spent the summer of 1841 here visiting relatives. during their stay here, they were the guests of Mrs. Miller's uncle, Michael WITT. At that time Joaquin was about four or five years of age". Page 27: Mrs. Carl Witt is listed as the 1950 past president of the Boone Extension Homemakers. Page 34: Subject: Perry Township Homemakers, organized in 1936. Of the 26 members in 1984, one was MARGARET WITT. Page 69: In reference to the history of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Lebanon, IN. "...On July 5, 1924, Bishop Alerding, of the Fort Wayne diocese bought of JOSEPH W. WITT, the lovely two story residence at 319 E. South St. (on the second lot west of St. Joseph's Church), as the Mission House for the Redemptorist Fathers and also as the rectory for St. Joseph's Church..." Page 71: SANDY WITT is listed as a member of the Hoosier Heritage Quilt Guild which held its first meeting in August, 1979. Page 161: In discussion of the History of Washington Township mention is made of the 1st officers of the Mechanicsburg Bank included BUREN WITT, cashier. The bank closed on Nov. 15th, 1928. It opened on Jan. 26, 1920. Page 167: Discussion of the Whitestown Celebrations From Red Men's Picnic to Pioneer Days states in part: "...Some of the early promoters were John N. Stark, A.O. "Jack Pence Alexander (born Hammond, Indiana,1922) married Alada Rose Witt (born Lebanon, Indiana,1923) in 1941......Alda is the daughter of Tressie Mc Claine and the late James Forest Witt. James (Jim) was a local businessman, well noted for his humor. Tressie, a creative artist and seamstress, is a business partner in the Sky-Vue Drive-In Theatre. Alada has one living sister, Helen Joan.....For forty four years Alada taught dancing (ballroom, ballet, Polynesian and tap). She was a faculty member of the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters. After her retirement from dancing, Alada began a small School of Charm and served as a free-lance model....." More info included on the Alexander family members. Page 191: Subject is the John Beck family. It reads in part ...."John and Judith had thirteen children....William m. Sarah Witt..."     3. Do you have any into about John and Susannah Chambers who came to Boone County from Ohio around 1835? Also I need a birthdate for Sarah Moffitt Chambers who was born in Hazelrigg in Boone County. Any info about the Calvert family, or James Scott family would be wonderful.
