His wife was Esther. Children were: Samuel, James, Martha, Hiantha and Mahala. In 1858 this family moved to Coles County, Illinois. I am not sure if the father, Samuel Fickes, was alive at the time of the move to Illinois. Perhaps he died in Indiana. I have never found a date of death, or final resting place.
