Since my Grandfather Jacob Oliver Smith "Steve" did not list his mother as his Graudian when he was in the Spanish American War, I thought she was died. Come to find out she is living with her sister and brother-in-law in the 1920 census for Marion County, Indiana. My Grandfather Raymond Oliver Smith was born Jonesville, Bartholomew County 1900 to Oliver Smith b. 1878 and Susan Gearhart b. 1878. Oliver named Susan's Uncle as his Guardian, William Gearhart. Oliver's father is said to be William Smith and he is not with his family in 1880 census. The census shows Jane Smith as divorced or widow. There is no record of William Smith dying. Does anyone have any information on Jane Davis/Smith/Lewis who was born in KY 1853 and her sister Mary Glouse/Clouse? b.1840 -42 in KY? Mary's husband is Peter was born in Germany in 1840. The mothe of these two girls is Mary J. Davis (nee unknown) born 1825 in KY. I would love to know where my Grandmother is buried , her date of death and an obit for her. Thanks Wanda
