Check in Warren County OH and the two neighboring counties of Hamilton and Butler. I've seen both surnames there and as territory opened, people crossed over the state line from this area into Franklin, Fayette, Dearborn and Jefferson counties in IN. Good luck. Also Batholomew County government has a website with archives so you can search online and then order the records.
