He died in 1848 when struck by a falling coon tree, according to family information. He and wife Eliza McKee sold their land in 1836 and 1838. No one knows for sure where Eleazer and Eliza were buried, but one researcher in the 1980s thought it was probably Mt. Olive Cemetery in Harrison, Bartholomew County, IN. Another source says that Eleazer was buried in Bloomington, IN. Since this is a Bartholomew County list, I am asking if anyone has found a headstone for Eleazer Rouse, who died in 1848. The same researcher said that Eliza died between 1870 - 1880, and that Eleazer and Eliza are buried in the same cemetery. That researcher also says that an Eliza Rouse married Edward Mitchell 9 Apr. 1850, allowing the reader to determine if she believed or thought that Eliza McKee married Edward. If she did marry Edward Mitchell, Eliza's surname could be Mitchell on the headstone (Eliza McKee Rouse Mitchell). Lee Anne
