I'm waiting to hear back from a local Carter family researcher, to see if she can confirm this. In the meantime, I have quite a bit of data about some of the other members of this family, and burial data on the parents. I DON'T have much on your James. Jehoda died here in Bartholomew Co. in 1896, buried at Hawcreek Baptist Cemetery. I had not searched hard for James, just couldn't find him on the 1850 census, and let it go at that. I am not a descendant of this family, just the local crazy genealogy lady, who knows where all the cemeteries are.
