Virginia, Thank you for your information. I am wondering if John R. Beaty (Beatty) is the son of John R. Beaty and Elizabeth living in Franklin Co. 1815? John R. Beaty died 1815 and his wife Elizabeth is found in the 1820 & 1830 census in Franklin Co. Could John R have come to Bartholomew Co. with William? Do you know where the family lived previously? Hello Anne -- The Beatys I am researching came from KY probably about 1825, judging from the children's birthdates and where they were born. We think they came from Montgomery County, KY, their father being Thomas Beaty who died there in 1817. Prior to that time, the family probably came from Virginia. The Ohio Beatys, whom I described earlier, I believe to have been in Bartholomew Co. as early as 1821. The family I spent time with was the 1821 William married to Mariah/Mary -- I eventually was able to distinguish him and his progeny from my group. Mariah was widowed early but did a lot of land transactions. If you are positive your Rachel is a Runyan, not a Layman, maybe your Beatys are Ohio Beatys. Franklin Co. John COULD have been a brother to KY Thomas. Franklin Co. COULD have been a stop along the way. Do you have any clues as to where Franklin Co. John came from? I wonder if he is listed on any of the lineages on the Beaty Project 2000.
