Hello Lisa: I mailed your photo today, so I hope you will receive it before Christmas. Please let me know if you recognize any of the other people in the photo. Thank you so much for all this information about addresses, etc. When you compare the photo with the current appearance, I wonder if it will be recognizable? Or if the address is still the same, but perhaps the old building was torn down and a new one built? This was the only relevant photo that I found on my last visit with my aunt. I KNOW there are other photos, including one of Charles H. Snyder as an older man (he had a long gray beard). But she has multiple photo albums plus alot of loose photos. So on my next visit, I will search for the other photos of which I think you would want copies (including ones of Charles H. Snyder, Addie (Snyder) Brooks, Laura (Snyder) Ogden's children, and also, I believe, M.U. Snyder. I'll even try to figure out how to scan photos in (I have the machine, just don't know if I have the software loaded or how to use it!). I don't think I have seen any photos of Charles 1st wife Lovina (but I have a photo of her gravemarker in the Hope Moravian Church cemetery - quite nice!). I am not certain about what happens if you attach photos onto messages to the message board -- it is worth a try! But I believe the Shelby Co, IN message board has a spam filter that filters out certain attachments: I have had to e-mail attachments directly to the manager of that board, so that she can post them. I would love for you to e-mail the photos of Marion and Sarah Jane. Also, I have some questions for you about the Snyders, but I will wait until after the New Year to get those together. I can't find each household for each census year and the trees on the internet have some discrepancies when compared with my information, so I'd like to get those sorted out. Laura (Snyder) Ogden's husband Dore was quite the inventor. Her family ended up in California. Dore invented some type of small car and also a wine filter. There is a lady named Evette Ogden who has information on that branch of the family. Snyder the Grocer" and the family of LouisFranklin Brooks of Bartholomew Co, IN Thanks! I am looking forward to getting that photo!! The address 513 is the corner of State St. and Hege (pronounced hayge) Avenue. I think the building faces State Street. This is from 1917 dir. It is still there (as of last June) it is now Discount Bob's Cigar store. I also looked for the following addresses: 120 State Street (Charles H. Snyders address in 1917) it is gone/ 601 Hege Ave(Edgar H. and Myrtle M Snyder lived in 1917) it is gone also. My grandfather Ed Snyder's restaurant called "Ed's Blue Bird Sandwich Shop" in the 1940's, was at 318 State Street,(SE corner of Reo & State) and is now a Swifty's Station. I have a few pictures of M.U.Snyder and Sarah Jane, also some decendents, have I shared these with you yet? I have not been on a message board like this, if I attach a picture here, can everyone have it? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Jennie & Bob Cox <robert21003@cox.net> wrote: Does anybody have access to city directories for Columbus, IN (Bartholomew > County) for about 1910? > > I am attempting to date and document a photograph passed down in my family > depicting an establishment with the sign "M.U.
