Mahoney married Evelyn E. Welsh, 25 June 1937, in Bartholomew Co., by Rev. C.R. Parkhurst. Hershal date of birth is given as 17 Apr. 1916, Kokomo, Ind., son of T.S. Mahoney (born Jennings Co.) and Bertha Boley, born Burlington, Ind. Hershal was working at Noblitt Sparks Co. in Columbus. (Note: Social Security gives Hershal's date of birth as 17 Apr. 1917, not 1916. Not sure which is correct, but he might have fudged on his age, if he needed permission to get married before he was 21. Evelyn was born 18 Jan. 1917 in Marion Co., daughter of Daniel Welsh and Marietta Kennedy. Daniel was born Marion Co., deceased in 1937; Marietta was born in Bartholomew Co., residing there in 1937.
