I have so many questions for you as I do not know where to begin. What a small world. I believe that we are related. I am going back to see my aunt in a few weeks. This is the daughter of Isabel and Carl Arrowood. She said that she had some information for me. My grandmother, Isabel was a very special lady. I am trying to find out as much about her family as I can as well. I found out that the Lancial's are from Arras, France. I was in France last year, but it was Paris. I went trying to find anything that I could about grandma. I will be more then happy to share what ever I have with you. Where are the gravesites? I have a picture of my grandmothers father Philagam (sp). Aunt Irene was not sure of any siblings. Please write back. Once again thank you for sharing. I will keep in touch. Sandi

Her brother William Nicholson married to a Margarette Thompson in 1826. I'm looking for more information on this couple. I did not find them in the 1850 census. The may have migrated on west as several of these family units did. Can anyone help me with Margarette? Or the Cox line?

The cem I'm looking for was in Bartholomew Co, Clay township- & thanks to a very kind lookup I've just learned it was in Sandhill cemetery where Alexander Ralston was buried- He died Jan 14- 1852 age age 58, but the info in the Bartholomew co Clay twp,1850 census he was listed as age 58- b. VA, his last name spelled as RULSTON- no wonder I haven't been able to find him in searchs on the net- missed that spelling till I found the census index on the county site & searched it myself name for name looking for an Alexander....bingo found him... When did Bartholomew county start keeping death records? I would like to find another source to compare on his age- I believe he was born abt 1791-1794, His wife Anna (Holmes Atkinson) was age 65 b. in Ireland in the 1850 census & 2 Ralston males Alexander 23 & Joseph 19 both born in VA, could be sons?- Joseph d. April 23- 1855 age 22 yrs 2 m 1 day also buried at Sandhill cem along with John Ralston who died Mar 28, 1863 age 62 yr 11 mo- so b. abt 1800 & I BET he is brother of Alexander- who were both born in Brooke co VA. Alex married Anne Holmes Atkinson a widow in 1825, the couple left Brooke area abt 1845- from details in a land deed there & went came west to this county to settle. I'm looking for any info on what may have happened to Anne/ Anna his wife & Alexander Ralston who was b. abt 1827. Anna's children with her 1st husband Thomas Atkinson who came west with them were; James Atkinson & wife Jane, William Atkinson & wife Salvina, George Atkinson & wife Rebecca, Robert Adams & wife Eliza Jane, Thomas Atkinson & wife Margaret- 2 sons stayed in Brooke Isaac & John. Isaac Atkinson later went to Leavenworth KS, kickapoo twp. where a Wilson Ralston was found living next door in 1850 census with wife Mary, 1860 census Wilson gone & Mary Ralston living with Isaac Atkinson. Thanks for any clues you can share & send my way. Happy Trails on all your searching too. Kim Ralston Dresser

This is what Ida Reddick told her. Rose and Ida were sisters and also best friends living down the street from one another always. Rose never would talk about John Ping. He is on her birth certificate though. She said that John Ping had an aunt Nancy J Ping that married John Westley Mayhew and had a son Pertle Mayhew Shaw. That is her husband. Then she told her that John died in Missouri of pnuemonia in 1928. If you have any information I would appreciate it. Dorothy is still living and wants to know. It will be much appreciated. He married Mary Ann Hill on January 22, 1856 in Bartholomew Co. Given his age at the time of this marriage, he could have had a previous marriage, perhaps to Virginia Lee, but I have no record of it. However, I do not claim this to be the definitive record. Mary Ann Hill was the daughter of Alpha Hill and Sarah Wishard, Nathaniel's third wife. Based on what records I have Stephen and Mary Ann had ten children and lived in the Clifford area of Bartholomew Co. I have listed Callie Catherine, Sarah Elizabeth, Rolla S., Susan, Nellie E., Leona, Nettie, Helen, Claudis, and Stella. I have not thoroughly researched this family so others may be able to add to it. My interest in Nathaniel Owens is that he was the brother of one of my g-g-g-grandfathers and served as guardian to one of my g-g-grandmothers, Lydia Frances Owens.

    3. I went to http://vitalrec.com/incounties4.html#Bartholomew so I could order a copy of a marriage certificate, but it had no fee to send with the request. Does any know the fee? Also, when dealing with the courthouse, does anyone know about how long it might take to get my request fulfilled? Is there anyone in Barth. Co that would do a lookup and obtain a copy for me at a reasonable cost? The marriage occurred in 1912. Please contact me off-list if you are willing to obtain it for me, and I can send all the necessary info. ~Susan Bryan Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri

I am from the Albert Essex/Letha Hitchcock line which puts me in the Elmira Reed branch of the Reeds. I have a few photos of Reeds - my grandmother died a year and a half ago and I am still sorting through the ones I got (unfortunately, I did not get copies of all of them-it's a long story). I have a "Reed family picture" that I took to the Essex reunion this year in the hopes someone could identify anyone-but no luck. On the back of the photo it looks like Weed patch and 1917 possibly is on it along with the Reed family, but not sure. Not sure if you know any more about this family or have other photos we can compare, but I hope so. I also have some of the Hitchcocks, and more of the Essex. I haven't done much research on the Hitchcocks and Reeds yet-so you probably have more info than I do at this point. Diana
