Jabel and Rebecca appear in the 1850 census for Brown County, Indiana, with a son named William C Smith, born about November 1849. According to this census, Jabel was born about 1826 in Kentucky (KY), and Rebecca was born about 1823 in Tennessee (TN). I have not been able to find this family in the 1860 Census, yet. Jabel later made the move to Bartholomew County, IN. I think that Jabel was married at least three times. I was hoping that someone could supply me with a list of Jabel's children. I am looking for the parents of my great great grandmother, Elizabeth Smith, who was born about 1854 in Indiana. Elizabeth married Nathaniel Robbins in Bartholomew County, IND, on October 14, 1869. Josephine, died in Greenwood, or lived in Greenwood at the time of her death. 2 years later, Charles Augustus HAMMON/D comitted suicide and their son, Charles Davidson HAMMOND, went to live with an anut and uncle on the Hammond side. There is a possibility of Dutch heritage, but have no passenger list confirmation for arrival.

I am also interested in pictures of these families. I have a picture of John P. in his store in Edinburgh in early 1900's. I am interested in corresponding with someone connected to these families.
