I used to have this family line further back to the original immigrant, but have recently lost all data due to a pc failure. (virus) I would be very interested in comparing notes with you. I have some family data on paper, and some copies of documents. I have from Lewis on down the line to date, I am willing to share what I do have. Would like to get back all my data back that I lost. Nothing worse than losing years of research in a few seconds!! I now print out my data once a month so I don't lose my research like that again. I am also very interested in this BASS surname. I have a David BASS in my lines, born Abt. 1822 in South or North Carolina, he married an Amanda THOMAS born Abt. 1830 in Union Co. SC, mar. in Irwin Co. Georgia on May 17, 1847. Nathaniel Owens's father was named John and I have little information on him except that he was from Wales and lived in Virginia before moving to Kentucky, then Indiana. He had five sons Nathaniel, Basil, Elijah (my direct line), William and John Jr.. I presume this is the John Jr. you are referring to. I have information on the first three but not William or John Jr. All though appear to have been born in Virginia between 1789 and 1801 and all moved to Indiana with John Sr. Your line appears to have moved to Kentucky from North Carolina by way of Tennessee. Also given the number of generations you mention the John Jr. in my line was born too late to be your John Jr. Thanks again for the response.

I am not researching this line just trying to be helpful. First of all I think you have the name of Oscars father wrong. I think it should have been Isaac. Reason 1: Isaac Bradford married Sarah Jane Bickerton in Bartholomew county on 5/18/1848. Reason 2: In the 1850 census for Bartholomew county, Sand Creek township, Isaac Bradford, 22, carpenter, born in Ind was living with Sarah Jane, 22, born in Ohio and Oscar Leo (not sure of the middle name), 1, born in Ind. Living next door was a family headed by Mary Bickerton, 42, born in NC, included were Elizabeth, 20, Ohio, - Elias, 16, Ind, - Catherine, 11, Ind, - Simon J, 9, Ind, - John Anderson, 7, Ind, and George Stephen, 4, Ind. There was also a listing for Rebecca Bickerson, 13, who had died in June of billous fever. The only other Bradford family in the census for that county lived in the same township and was listed only two pages away. The family was headed by John Bradford, 51, no occupation listed,! born in Tenn, included were Sarah, 49, SC, - John H, 18, Ind, - Sarah Ann, 17, Ind, and Jonathan, 12, Ind. Pure speculation but I would think these families are intertwined. Good luck. Don

They were married 30 Oct 1873 in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana, where they lived most of their lives. They had three daughters, then three sons, and Oscar also had one son by his first wife, Mary Crafton. His parents were Isaiah Bradford and Sarah J. [surname unknown] but that is all the information that I know about them. I am only beginning to seriously research my Bradford line, so if any kind soul out there can add anything to the above, particularly as it pertains to his parents and other ancestors, I would be very grateful. I would be happy to share any information that I have, but I am afraid that is not much insofar as my Bradford line is concerned. David
Hi odellyn (or others who might have an ODLE/ODELL in their ancestry): I noticed that your e-mail ID/handle is odellyn. Do you have ODELLs/ODLEs in your ancestry that also were in TN (maybe Rutherford Co., Bedford Co., Coffee Co., Davidson Co., or around there)? If so, I'd like to see if we might have an ancestor in common or ancestors that were cousins. I'm trying to track down the parents of Mary A. ODLE who married my Jasper M. Bates in Rutherford Co. TN in 1844.
