John H. had three brothers: Isaac (my connection to the family), Harvey and Jonathan W. As Isaac is my line, I haven't kept any information on John H., Harvey and Jonathan's children so I'm guessing Flava was one of these three's daughter. I'll keep your post handy and will check Flava out the next time I'm at the library in town.

Plus, I have access to the Bradford Family Reunion Books, 1908-196?, as well as information from other surviving ancestors still in Bartholomew County, Indiana, where the family resided. As for John, his full name is John Herod Bradford – born April 23, 1832, in Sand Creek Township of Bartholomew County; he was the fourth child of John Bradford and Sarah Blades. John died Jan. 25, 1904, also in Bartholomew County. John lived in Elizabethtown, just outside of Columbus in the county. A carpenter, he also served as Justice of the Peace in Elizabethtown. Contact me via email for more and to trade information on the Bradfords.

I believe Delilah Pope was born either in Tennessee or North Carolina - family folklore believes she was born in North Carolina. I know nothing about her family whatsoever, but whatever Calhoun family she lived with before she married had to have been in Indiana by 1835 as she married Galen Harvey in 1835 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. After a brief stay in Monroe County, Indiana, she and Galen moved to Jackson County, purchased 40 acres of land in Salt Creek Twp. two miles north of Spraytown, in an area known as Highmount. The Calhoun family information has been handed down via family folklore so I don't know how dependable the information is. Did your Noble Calhoun have kinfolk who lived in Jackson or Batholomew County previous to 1856?

My Calhoun family came from Beaver County, Pennsylvania between 1856 and 1857 to the area near the cemetery. Did the Pope family migrate to Beaver County? Her being her in southern Indiana may suggest a reason that the Noble Calhoun family chose the area around the cemetery to settle.

William, my primary person of interest, was 69 and born in NY in that census. Minerva was 44, born in IN. In the 1880,census Minerva was alone with the children, suggesting William had died. Minerva died in 1918 in the county infirmary/poor house. I have her obit which says she was born in 1821 in Boggstown OH (though all her censuses say IN), the daughter of ______ Jackson and widow of William Beach, farmer, who had died about 35 years earlier. Minerva's children were Sarah b. ~1849 OH, Eliza Jane b. ~1859 OH, Hester b. ~1861 OH, Mary b. ~1864 IN, Ira J. "Jesse" b. ~1865 IN, William V. b. ~1867 IN. Only Hester and Mary were alive by 1900. I don't think William was Sarah and Eliza's father because census records give their fathers birthplace as CT, while the other children had NY as fathers birthplace. I would appreciate any info on this family, especially on William, as I suspect he may be my ancestor. My William was born in NY ~1800, married Monica Ross in Brown Co. OH in 1826, and lived in Brown and Clermont Cos, OH until after 1860, when Monica appeared to be widowed and was living with one of her sons. In the 1860 census in Clermont Co., OH Minerva J. Beech, 34 b. IN, Pamelia E. 13 b. OH, Sarah E. 11 b. OH, and Eliza J. 1 b. OH were living next door to William and Monica Beech. I would greatly appreciate any information on this family! I am trying to locate family history information about my great grandparents; surnames - Morris and Couch. My GG grandfather was Joseph Morris.
