My great-grandfather, Emanuel Myers, is listed in the 1906, 1907, 1910, 1911, and 1915 city directories. His profession is listed as "driver" in 1906; "condr" (conductor?) in 1907; "fireman" in 1910, and "watchman" in 1911. Does anyone know if all of these terms are railroad terms? He was a farmer in Perry Township before he got married in 1905, but we have no idea what happened to him later in his life. On my grandfather's birth certificate, Emanuel's profession is listed as "horseman." We are very confused. Any help with these terms would be greatly appreciated. Karen
