Still trying to find my elusive Roux family. Charles Adolphus was born in 1871 in Alsace. Niece, Irene Roux, was born in 1898 in Fort Wayne and she married Leo J. Poinsette/Poinsatte of Fort Wayne. I found Charles in a census in 1901 in Manitoba, Canada and there it listed he was a Methodist. The Poinsettes were Catholic. I'm trying to find out who Irene's parents were and if she had any siblings...somebody told me to contact churches...but I don't know what church they went to! I'm not sure where to proceed...Charles ran off with Emma McNeil's cousin...another McNeil in Canada...but cannot locate anything more about him....hope to find other Roux family members on Charles's brother's side who probably stayed in the States. Hello Terry, It is possible to check the Catholic Church birth and marriage records for your elusive "Irene." If she was born here, there should be a baptism recorded or if she was married in the Catholic Church, it may show her paretns. I will see what I can come up with and get back to you.
