My name is Edward Felstead and I have joined your list from here in England (UK). I would like to correspond with any FELSTEAD's or ancestors of FELSTEAD's. My basic problem is that I have an ancestor who was BORN in AMERICA circa 1839 but RETURNED to the UK where the family line continued. I believe my ancestors parents may have lived in INDIANA and also in your county. Below are brief details of the family I THINK may be involved. WILLIAM (JOHN) FELSTEAD m SARAH GREEN 19/NOV/1811 HERTFORSHIRE,ENGLAND They had TWO sons - EDWARD FELSTEAD b 1815 HERTFORDSHIRE,ENGLAND WILLIAM FELSTEAD b 1819 HERTFORDSHIRE,ENGLAND I believe WILLIAM (JOHN) FELSTEAD and his son WILLIAM FELSTEAD emmigrated to AMERICA but EDWARD did not. I am not sure if SARAH FELSTEAD emmigrated or stayed behind in ENGLAND with EDWARD. There is a record suggesting a JOHN FELSTEAD and a WILLIAM FELSTEAD being NATURALIZED in 1848 in INDIANA - possibly VANDERBURGH COUNTY or ALLEN COUNTY. I believe the son WILLIAM b 1819 in ENGLAND (whose occupation may have been a WEAVER) may have MARRIED or at least had a son in AMERICA - born in 1839. The son's name (yes you've guessed it) was WILLIAM!!! Thus in summary I need to track down a WIILIAM FELSTEAD - born AMERICA 1839. One IMPORTANT POINT - On his MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE,when back in ENGLAND WILLIAM states the following "Born AMERICA (BRITISH SUBJECT). This marriage took place in 1860 in CHESTER,CHESHIRE,ENGLAND. Thus WILLIAM b 1839 in AMERICA never actually became an AMERICAN!! Finally I think there may be a connection with the FELSTEAD's of DETROIT,MICHIGAN but this is a bit tenuous at the moment. Any help you can give me will be most gratefully received. Thank you Edward Felstead West Lancashire England --------------CFBD4E767BF141EE17B4233F--

    3. Brian, I have been following the postings on this cemetery and was wondering what the earliest date was. My Mary MALONE died in this area sometime between 1839 and 1849. If I could find a stone I hopefully would have a date and be able to clear up a lot of questions. 1. [INALLEN-L] Enumeration District
    2. Can anyone tell me where Enumeration District #19 was in 1910? I'm trying to figure out exactly where my great-grandfather was living. His name is Israel Myers. He is listed on the 1910 census in E.D. #19, page 16A. This is Perry Township, but I don't know where exactly in Perry Township. In the 1900 census, he was in E.D. #15. In the 1880 census, he was in E.D. #102. Did the enumeration district numbers change from census year to census year, or was my great-grandfather moving around? He was in Perry Township in all of these censuses. Thanks for your help. Karen

    3. Barb, I live in Toledo but have visited ACPL often. They have a great collection of city directories. I am not sure how early they are. Maybe someone else on the list has that info. If you ever get the opportunity to visit Fort Wayne, you should not miss the library. It is a treasure trove. I hope to get there again as soon as tax season is over. 3. This is the only Kridler on my list list of readable stones of in Hatfield cemetery. It could be that the other Kridlers stones, if they had any, had been knocked down years ago and are now covered up. I've found a few like that by accident :>) as it is illegal in Indiana to probe for stones. I guess the DNR here believes that if you take a stick and push it six inchs into the groud in a cemetery then you are disturbing a gravesite, yet nothing is done to vandals and it's way to easy to move a pioneer cemetery to put a park or parking lot in it's place. 1. [INALLEN-L] FRAUDULENT LINEAGES UPDATE
    2. First Families
    3. Hello Everyone: When we started reporting on the fraudulent lineages created by Gustave Anjou there were 109 families on the list. As of this posting today that has increased to 305 families with more to come. I urge all of you to look at the pages carefully as some of your lines may need reworking especially if you have traced them back to Europe. The url to access the list is located at. http://www.linkline.com/personal/xymox/fraud/anjousbu.htm There are also other pages located within the Fraud Index located there that will be of great help to you. The very best to all. Harold Oliver Director America's First Families

    3. Yes, the cemetery is in real bad shape but not as bad as it used to be thanks to two Cub Scout Packs, one Boy Scout Troop and a Varsity Scout Crew. In Oct. they got about half of the brush, scrub and weeds cleared out. The Varsity Scouts have made a new sign and all these fine young men want to take Hatfield Cemetery on as a yearly project. They will be back this May for more cleaning, along with myself. I was only able to get there once this Winter but was able to clean up one small section and unbury one stone. Hopefully, this Spring and Summer I can do some stone repair and resetting. Their are quite a few that are broken and buried. The Washington township trustee does take care of the lawn but that's about all he has time and money for. Brian E. 2. I have read all records at the Library. They do not check out in all aspects. Is their another agency that should have records? Given burials as recent as the 1980s indicates somebody does or how could there be new or recent burials. Burial plot records do not agree with listings.

    1. [INALLEN-L] Request help with pre 1907 marriage record
    2. Hi List, Does anyone have the time to copy a pre 1907 marriage records at the library there in Allen County? I'm researching the STROEDE family line and would like a copy of the marriage record for William STROEDE on July 18, 1893/1895. The indexes list this record for both years being in Book 21, pg. 327. I'm not sure why. But it appears to be the same record. I would of course be happy to reimburse you for your expenses. Very much appreciated, Michelle in Georgia
