Belvoir. He was a brother of Mrs. Donald (Dora) Beery, of Decatur. Wilkinson was a retired Army Colonel, having served 30 years in the Corps of Engineers until his retirement in 1973. He was born in Decatur on December 16, 1923, and was a graduate of Decatur High School. His parents, Walter and Bernice (Burger) Wilkinson, both preceeded him in death. He served in Europe during World War II and later in Korea and Viet Nam, receiving a Purple Heart, the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star with V and the Silver Star. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Mowery, a son Richard of Eugene, Oregon, and a daughter, Susan Julie, of San Francisco, Calif; a brother David of Summerville, South Carolina; two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Dora) Beery of Decatur, and Mrs. Leroy (Phyllis) Quick of Coalinga (cut off) (Does anyone know where he is buried?
