BAUMGARTNER Lawrence L. Baumgartner, 62, of 1055 West Main St., Berne, died Tuesday at 9:15 p.m. at the Adams County Memorial Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was a member of the Cross United Church of Christ. Born in Adams County on March 24, 1916, he was the son of Hiram and Mollie Sprunger-Baumgartner, and was married on June 30, 1940 to Jeanette Meshberger, who survives. Also surviving are the mother of Swiss Village in Berne; one son, Jerry Baumgartner, Goodland, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Ellis (Rhoda) Hirschy, Berne; Mrs. James (Ella) McCullough, Monroe; Mrs. Lester (Esther) Gerber, Orrville, Ohio. One brother, Willard Baumgartner and one sister, Mrs. Roy (Velma) Kirchhofer, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Yager Funeral Home, with Rev. Sylvan Nussbaum officiating. Burial will be in MRE Cemetery and friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Thursday.
