HENDRICKS Dmitri W. (Duke) Hendricks, 44, of Bloomington, Ill., a resident of Decatur until two years ago and a former employee of the Decatur General Electric, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Middlesboro Community Hospital, Middlesboro, Ky., where he had been a patient 15 days. Mr. Hendricks suffered a heart attack while on vacation. He was employed at the Pastry Shop in Bloomington and was a member of the Moose Lodge 745 in Bloomington, American Legion of Bluffton, and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. He was born in Richmond on March 5, 1932, the son of Howard Gale and Thelma Burkhead-Hendricks and was married on Dec. 21, 1974 to Shirley Myers, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, who lives in Panama City, Fla.; four children: Mrs. Henry (Kathlen) Garza, Fort Wayne; Randall Hendricks, Decatur; Miss Margaret (Peggy) Hendricks, Bellvue, O.; Miss Mona Hendricks, at home; five stepchildren: Mrs. Thomas (Mary Ellen) Castle, Fitchville, Conn.; Willis, Charles, Peggy Sue, and Sheila Dishner, all at home; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Marie) Neff, Greenville, O.; two brothers, Jack Hendricks, mayor of Cambridge, O.; Howard Gene Hendricks, Panama City, Fla.; and one grandson. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Zwick Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert VanderHart officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. The Decatur Moose Lodge will hold services at 7:30 p.m. today. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
