Author: KarinKing45 Surnames: Moser, Beck, McKee, Galbraith, Browning Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.adams/4459/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Decatur Daily Democrat Adams County, Indiana Friday, Aug. 20, 1976 EDWARD WILLIAM MOSER Word has been received here of the death of Edward William Moser, 51, Sonora, Mexico, a staff member of the Summer Institute of Linguistics at the University of North Dakota, who died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 8, at his UND residence. He was a 1942 graduate of Decatur High School. Mr. Moser was born Oct. 26, 1924 in Juliet, Ill. During World War II he served in the Navy and on Aug. 13, 1946 he was married to Mary M. Beck in Williamsport, Pa. His father, Rev. Carrey Moser, was pastor of the First Baptist Church in Decatur for many years. For the past 27 years he had attended the SIL and had been a staff member since 1953. Mr. Moser had done linguistic and anthropoligical research and Bible translations with the Seri Indians at Sonora since 1951. (Mrs. Moser plans to return to Sonora in September to complete this translation). Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Kathy, Sonora; his stepmother, Mrs. Mildred Moser, Yorktown, Ind.; one brother, Robert C., Albuquerque, N.M.; and three sisters, Mrs. E. William (Marilyn) McKee, North Syracuse, N. Y.; Mrs. Alfred (Marjorie) Galbraith, Alexandria, Va.; and Mrs. Bruce (Eleanor) Browning, Tarboro, N. C. Funeral services were held at the Grace Baptist Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Forks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
