Callow, 73, route 2, Ohio City, Ohio, died at 2:03 p.m. Friday (Ohio time) in Grandview Hospital at Dayton, Ohio after having been a patient there six weeks. He was born in Willshire Township of Van Wert County, Ohio on July 8, 1914 to Allen B. and Rosa Ann Bailey Callow and married the former Marilyn "Dot" Thatcher on March 8, 1952; she died may 30, 1982. He was a retired farmer, lifetime resident of Willshire Township, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Pacific Theater in Worl War II. He was a lifetime member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and a member of the National Arbor Day Foundation. Surviving are three sons, John C. Callow and Kerry L. Callow, both of route 2, Ohio City, and Brian W. Callow, Wren, Ohio, and two brothers, D. Hoyt Callow, Phoenix, Arizona and Robert A. Callow, Van Wert, Ohio. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday (Ohio time) in Zwick-Sefton and Jahn Funeral Home, Rev. Jeff Millay officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City. There will be special military graveside services by Home Pierson Post 208 of American Legion at Willshire. Visiting hours at the funeral home are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday (Ohio time).
