Feb. 23, 1988 Robert W. Bowman, 92, of near Craigville, brother of LaVern Bowman, Decatur, died at 7:10 p.m. Sunday at Caylor-Nickel Hospital, Bluffton. He had been residing at Ossian Health Care. Born Oct. 23, 1895, in Wells County, he was a son of John A. and Eliza Archbold-Bowman. His marriage to Celia Beatrice Eichhorn, who died Nov. 9, 1953, took place March 4, 1920 in Wells County. He was a member of Lancaster Chapel United Methodist Church and a retired sawmill owner and operator and farmer. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Jarrett, Fort Wayne; a son, Dale E. Bowman, rural Craigville; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Harris, Bluffton and Mrs. Elbert Havens, Keystone; four brothers, George D. Bowman, Bluffton; Howard Bowman, Keystone; LaVern Bowman, Decatur, and Virgil Bowman, Arroyo Grande, Calif.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at Thoma-Rich Funeral Home, Bluffton, where services will be held at 1:30 pm. Wednesday, Rev. Stephanie Hill and Rev. Michael Overpeck officiating.
