The services will be held at the home of a sister, Mrs. Rollie Donnell, 612 North Thrid street, with Rev. Glen Marshall, pastor of the Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery. The deceased was born in Adams County on March 17, 1884, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Diehl, and was a lifelong resident of the county. His wife, Emma Lozier-Diehl, preceded him in death. Surviving are the mother; the following children: Edward of Valparaiso, Charles of New Castle, Mrs. Howard Beakman of San Antonio, Tex., Ray, Mrs. Max Kian and Dorthy Diehl, all of Fort Wayne; Pvt. Harvey Diehl of Camp Edwards, Mass.; the following brothers and sisters, Sam and Fred, Mrs. Donnell, Mrs. Daisy Rickord and Mrs. Arthur Garner, all of Decatur; John and Mrs. Pearl Daymon of Alma, Mich.; Mrs. Charles Johnloz of Tocsin; three grandchildren. The body will be removed from the Gillig & Doan funeral home to the Donnell residence late this afternoon. Diehl was sentenced by Judge J. Fred Fruchie in April, 1940 to serve a 10-year sentence at Michigan City after pleading guilty to a charge of robbery. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
