MORLAN Marvin E. Morlan, 81, Decatur, died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday in Woodcrest Nursing Home. He was born on March 18, 1917 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Emery M. and Blanch A. Parker Morlan and married Eileen M. Donohue on September 14, 1940; she died on September 2, of this year. He retired in 1979 from the U. S. Steel plant in Gary, Indiana, and was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and its Holy Name Society. Surviving are a son, Stewart M. Morlan, Bloomington; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Judy D.) Saunders, Decatur and Janet L. Law, Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. His brother Merle Morlan died last Friday in Colorado. A sister, Marvel Bird; three granddaughters and one great-granddaughter are also deceased. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, with a scriptural wake service at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
