Stevens, 65, of Convoy, O., brother of Ralph Stevens of Decatur, died at 5:22 p.m. Wednesday in the Van Wert County Hospital. He had been ill the past 13 years. He was born in Wren, O., August 31, 1904, the son of Rolland B. and Iona M. Green-Stevens. He was married to Lela Pancake March 12, 1930, who preceded him in death March 12, 1934. He was married to Viola F. Heath on August 7, 1936 and she proceded him in death on May 29, 1963. Mr. Stevens was a life-long resident of Van Wert county, and was employed at Phelps Dodge, Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Convoy Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bobby (Mabel) Gibson of Duncanville, Tex., Mrs. Donald (Janella) Lovelette, of Monroeville, Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Morton of Monroeville; four sons, David J., Donald W., Gayle L., all of Van Wert and Gary P. of Ohio City; and one brother, Ralph of Decatur. Two sons and one sister preceded him in death. Mr. Stevens had 14 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stainfield Funeral Home, Convoy, with Rev. Albert Straley of Cridersville, O officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery, Convoy. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today.
