He had been ill for several months. He was born in St. Mary's township to George and Catherine Lilch-Koos, and taught in Blue Creek Township schools many years ago. He retired 10 years agoafter being associated for many years with Iowa State College of Agriculture at Ames, Ia. He lived in Ft. Smith, Ark., upon retirement, before moving to California. Surviving are his wife Edith; three daughters; two brothers, Walter Koos of Decatur, route 3 and Vernon Koos of Enid, Okla.; sister, Mrs. Philip (Florence) Rash of Pennville; and a number of nieces and nephews in this area.
