Enjoy Life - It has an Expiration Date -----Original Message----- From: Kay Lehman [mailto:kayefel@cox.net] Dear Ms. Pearce: This is a question regarding some music I have that has its history in Geneva. It's a handwritten piece of sheet music for a song called "My Picture Show Girl." The lyrics were written by my great-grandmother Norma Ward Palmer, and she dedicated it to her father James B. Ward who was a physician in Geneva. He died in 1927. The name of the man who composed the music is cut off on the copy I have; all I can read is Harry M. Ro. . . My aunt, who is 89, can remember some discussion regarding this music when she was a small child, so it looks as though the music was composed sometime around 1927. My other family members who were alive that far back are no longer living so there is no one who would know anything about it. As far as I know the song was never published anywhere. I've looked through your website and don't find any name resembling the name fragment I have of the composer. Would there be any other resources in your library that could shed some light on this? I live in Arizona so it wouldn't be easy for me to come out and do research there. Do you have a service where someone can do research for a fee? I would really like to find a history of this music because I'm working on an arrangement of it and would like to give credit to the composer. I would appreciate any guidance. Thank you!
