Anker, 90, well-known Decatur lady, died suddenly of a coronary attack at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday at her home, 214 South First Street. She had not been ill, and death was unexpected. Born in Vermillion County, Ill., April 2, 1879, she was a daughter of William D. and Paulina Miller-Smith, and had resided in Decatur for many years. She was married April 7, 1900 to Albert M. Anker who preceded her in death in 1947. Mrs. Anker was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Adams County Historical Society and the Democratic Women's Club. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Veronica A. Linn of Decatur; a granddaughter, Miss Dianne Linn of Decatur; and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Deege of Danville, Ill. One granddaughter, two sisters, and four brothers are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Winteregg-Linn funeral home with Rev. Robert Vander Hart officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today until time of the services.
