MEYER John E. Meyer, 54, Crooked Lake, a former Decatur resident, died at 5:50 p.m. Saturday at home. He was born on February 19, 1941 in Decatur to John E. and Nola F. Mauller Meyer. His father is deceased; his mother lives in rural Decatur. He married Carolyn S. Andrews on February 9, 1963; she also survives. He worked for Hagerman Construction of Fort Wayne for 36 years and was a superintendent. He was a membe of the Decatur Moose Lodge 1311 and St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Decatur. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Todd (MaChelle) Meyer Callen, Indianapolis; a son, John D. Meyer, Temple, Texas; three brothers, Dan, Larry and Gary Meyer, all of rural Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Bill (Janet) Tharp and Mrs. Greg (Linda) Clifton, both of rural Decatur; and three grandchildren. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Zwick-Sefton & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visiting hours are 1-8 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday. There will be a Moose memorial service at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Preferred memorials are to the John and Brittany Meyer and Grant Callen Scholarship Educatioin Fund. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
