She had been ill four months with complications and a heart condition. She was born in Pennsylvania, May 22, 1871, the daughter of John and Catherine Schell-Burkett. She was married at Craigville in 1889 and her husband died January 12, 1930. No children were born to their union. Mrs. Helmrich moved from her home in Kirkland township [to] Bluffton two years ago. She was a member of the Christian Union church. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mary Dilling of Decatur rural route, and three brothers, Henry Burkett of Cleveland, Ohio., Ed of Selma and Dan Burkett of Bluffton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. Luke's Evangelical and Reformed church at Honduras, Rev. Matthew Worthman of Bluffton officiating. Burial will be in the Zion cemetery, south of Honduras. The body may be viewed at the Jahn funeral home in Bluffton until time of the services. Decatur Daily Democrat Vol. XL. No. 177.
