LEHMAN Leslie B. Lehman, 85, Berne, died at 6:40 p.m. Saturday in Swiss Village Retirement Center after a long illness. He was born on September 23, 1908 in Adams County to Burkhart and Lydia Sprunger Lehman and married Naomi Neuenschwander on August 24, 1937. She survives. He was president of First Bank of Berne, retiring in 1978 after a 50-year career. He was a former member of the Berne Rotary Club, Berne Chamber of Commerce, and Berne Board of Education, and was on the board of directors at Swiss Village. He was a member of First Mennonite Church, Berne, and was a former member of its Men's Chorus, Chancel Choir, and Mennonite Choral Society. He was also a trustee and treasurer of the church. Other survivors are three sons, Thomas Lehman, Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Neil Lehman, Indiana, Pennsylvania; and George Lehman, North Newton, Kansas; a daughter, Mary L. Yoder, Goshen; and 11 grandchildren. Deceased are three sisters (Molly Neuenschwander, Cora Nussbaum, and Viola Stetler), and seven brothers, (Leo, Herman, Elmer, Albert, Reuben, Harley and Harry Lehman). Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Mennonite Church, with burial in MRE Cemetery, Berne. Visiting hours will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne, and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Preferred memorials are to Swiss Village or Mennonite Missions.
