V. Dilling of route 2, Decatur, died suddenly of a heart attack at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at his home, 707 N. Wayne Street, North Manchester. He was a commerce teacher in township schools near North Manchester. He was born in Decatur April 5, 1909, a son of O. V. and Mary Catherine Stoneburner-Dilling, and was married to Mary Ruth Henricks (sic) Nov. 2, 1935. Mr. Dilling was a member of the Church of the Brethren at North Manchester. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents, are two sons, Wendell and Roger Dilling, both at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Glen Drabenstot of Huntington and Mrs. Edwin Grossnickle of Elgin, Ill. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Manchester Church of the Brethren, the Rev. H. F. Richards officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at North Manchester. The body was removed to the Bender funeral home at North Manchester, where friends may call until 1 p.m. Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of the services.
