MARTIN Ralph G. "Shorty" Martin, 89, 120 S. 10th St., died at home at noon Monday. He was born on October 23, 1908 in Adams County to Frank O. and Sarah M. Arnold Martin and married Helen M. Fairchild on October 21, 1960. She died on August 20, 1994. He was a retired farmer and a former employee of Yost Gravel/Ready Mix. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 43 iin Decatur. He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Church. Surviving are two brothers, Robert C. Martin of Auburn and Richard A. Martin of Decatur, and a sister, Mrs. Lyle (Helen) Franz of Decatur. Six brothers and five sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Haggard and Armes Funeral Home, Decatur, with burial in Decatur cemetery, including military graveside rites by American Legion Post 43. Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Saturday and 10-a.m. - 2 p.m. Sunday. Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
