Houk, 83, of Decatur, died at 4:03 p.m. Wednesday in Adams Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 18, 1925, in Decatur to Albert F. and June Blossom Burkhart Bieneke. She married Howard Haugk in 1946; he died in 1951. She married Harry F. "Bud" Houk in 1953; he died in 1973. She retired after a 36-year teaching career, the last 24 years in the North Adams Community Schools system. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Decatur. Surviving are one son, Joel D. Houk (and wife Deborah) of Decatur; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Julia S.) Noblitt of Decatur; one sister, Mrs. John (Alice) Zintsmaster of Scottsdale, Arizona; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. One brother is deceased, Dr. Jack Bieneke. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Pastor Jay Carter officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
