FRIEDT, 78, of 1204 Jackson St., wife of Jack Friedt, died at 7:43 a.m. today at her residence. She had been seriously ill for two years and in poor health for six years. Mrs. Friedt was active in many offices of the First United Methodist Church. Born in Pleasant Mills on 10 July 1897, she was the daughter of Alber and Ada Brown-Mauller, and was united in marriage on 18 December 1915, to Jack Friedt. Her husband was a Decatur fire chief for eight years and fireman for 25 years. Survivors, in addition in the husband, are three children, Marion Friedt of route 4 Decatur; Kenneth Friedt of route 6, Decatur; Mrs. Robert (Anola) Nicodemus of Fort Wayne; two sisters; Mrs. Esther Riley, Pleasant Mills; Mrs. Delmore (Lucille) Wechter, route 6, Decatur; one brother, Irvin Mauller of Georgia; 11 grandchildren. Three sons and one brother preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Zwick Funeral Home, with Rev. Harold L. Leinenger officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 12 noon on Thursday. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
