Thieme, 88, of route 5, Decatur, a retired farmer, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Manor, Fort Wayne, where he had resided for three days. He was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Born in Union Township on August 15, 1888, he was the son of Fred and Sophia Krueckeberg-Thieme, and was married on May 4, 1913 to Emma D. Hockemeyer, who died March 3, 1973. Mr. Thieme was a lifelong resident of Union Township. Survivors include two children, Herman, route 5, Decatur and Paula Thieme, route 5, Decatur; one sister, Mrs. Sophia Ostermeyer, Fort Wayne; four brothers, Richard Thieme, Decatur, Charles, Fred, and Simon Thieme, all of route 3, Decatur; two granddaughters and one great-grandson. One half brother and two sisters preceded him in death. One daughter, Velma, also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Rev. O. A. Brillinger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Zwick Funeral Home until noon Tuesday and after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
