Decatur Adams Co., IN. DESSIE HOWARD, 76, injured in a mishap, dies at Van Wert. Mrs. Dessie HOWARD, 76, of 513 Marshall Street, widow of Chester HOWARD, died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday in the Van Wert, Ohio County Hospital of injuries received in an accident on 27 April . The mishap occurred in Van Wert County. She was a member of the Women of the Moose. Born in Adams County on 25 January 1897, she was the daughter of Joseph and Desdemona STALTER-WOLFE, and was married on 21 August 1915 to Chester HOWARD. Mr. HOWARD preceded her in death on 2 July 1970. Surviving are two children, Ivan of Decatur, and Mrs. William (Devona) NEEDHAM, Downey, California; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel ANDREWS, Decatur, and Mrs. Bertha SCHMIDT, Hudson, Michigan; three brothers, George WOLFE and William WOLFE, Fort Wayne, and Lloyd WOLFE, Monroe Michigan; two grandsons and one great granddaughter. Three sisters and one brother preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Zwick Funeral Home, with Rev. Fuhrman MILLER officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. tonight. Memorial services will be conducted at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Friday by the Women of the Moose.
