Mrs. Susannah Johnson, aged seventy-three, nearly a life-long resident of the county, died this morning at 4:45 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lida May Watkins, at Monroe, after a long illness of stomach trouble. Mrs. Johnson was the widow of Samuel Johnson, who passed away in November, 1910. She was the daughter of Philip Everhart, a native of Pennsylvania, and was born in Ohio April 23, 1841. The greater part of her life, however, was spent in the vicinity of her death, where she was known as a most excellent woman. Besides the daughter, named before, she is survived by two sons, Marion Johnson of Lagrange and John Johnson of this county. A daughter died in infancy. She has one brother, David Everhart, living in Monroe; and two sisters - Rebecca Hickman, Monroe, and Martha Uhrick, Nappanee. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Monroe Methodist church by the Rev. Thomas Wyer of Lima, Ohio. Burial in the Ray cemetery.
