Peterson, 96, a lifelong Adams County resident and a Decatur resident the past 70 years, died at Woodcrest, her home since May of 1997, at 12:15 p.m. Saturday. She was born in Berne on December 8, 1903 to Christian and Rosina Wittwer Neukom and married Cal F. Peterson on December 19, 1924; he died on May 27, 1958. She was a homemaker and a member of Decatur Church of God and the Women of the Church of God. Surviving are three sons, Cal M. Peterson of New Haven; Charles M. Peterson of Berne; and Don R. Peterson of Decatur; a brother, Glen Neukom of Garrett; four sisters, Irene Curdes of Decatur; Mrs. Jerome (Evelyn) Ehinger and Marcella Freiburger, both of Fort Wayne; and Mrs. John (Mildred) Windland of Garrett; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sons, Ralph and K. Richard Peterson; two brothers, Reno and Paul Neukom; two sisters, Edith Haynes and Florine Egley; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Decatur Church of God, with burial in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-8 p.m. Tuesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church.
