"Zell" Chilcote, 89, 376 Stevenson St., died Wednesday in Adams County Memorial hospital. She was born on December 26, 1903 in Adams County to Alphus and Jenny Heath DeBolt. She married Dora Edgell on November 25, 1922; he died June 19, 1935. She married Roy W. "Ike" Chilcote on May 2, 1936; he died August 12, 1988. She worked for 30 years at DeBolt-Macklin Clothing in downtown Decatur and was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Elaine) Spencer, Fort Wayne; a stepdaughter, Anna Lou Mendenhall, Bluffton; a stepson, Jack Chilcote, Decatur; a sister, Maxine Hendricks, Fort Wayne; five granddaughters; four step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Three brothers are deceased: Russell, Raymond, and Chalmer DeBolt. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Haggard and Armes Funeral Home, Rev. Fuhrman Miller officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are 7-9 p.m. Friday, 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sunday. Preferred memorials are to the church of the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Fort Wayne. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
