Brodbeck, 74, route 1, Willshire, O., a retired International Harvester Co. employee, died at 5 p.m. Friday at the Van Wert Manor Nursing Home, Van Wert, O., following an extended illness. He was a member of the Willshire United Brethren in Christ Church. Born in Adams County on Feb. 10, 1906, he was the son of Clarence and Cora Shell-Brodbeck, and was married on Aug. 24, 1933, to Rosa M. Garwood, who died Sept. 2, 1978. Survivors include four children, Earl Junior Brodbeck and Darrell L. Brodbeck, both of Willshire; Mrs. Helen Hogan, Ft. Dodge, Ia.; Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Yates, Ft. Ord, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Gay, Decatur; Mrs. Harold (Thelma) Hakes, Fort Wayne; three brothers, Chester, Monroe; Marion and Walter Brodbeck, both of Decatur; and 15 grandchildren. Two sons Russell and Clarence, and one brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Willshire United Brethren in Christ Church, with Rev. Menzel Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Willshire Cemetery. Friends may call at the Winteregg-Linn & Haggard Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Sunday.
