Harman, 56, 704 Elm St., was dead on arrival at 7 a.m. today at the Adams County Memorial Hospital, after suffering a heart attack at his home. Born November 8, 1923 in Root Township, Mr. Harman was the son of Amos L. and Virgie Stetler-Harman. His mother, who make her home with Mr. Harman, survives. Also surviving is the widow, the former Alice Sheets, whom he married on August 18, 1946. Other survivors include two sons, Richard L. Harman of Decatur and Daniel Harman of Fort Wayne; three daughters, Mrs. James (Marilyn) Lee of Decatur, Mrs. Gerald (Carolyn) Stefanek of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Paul Michael (Connie) Meyer of Fort Wayne; one sister, Mrs. Harry (Betty) Mauller of Decatur; 13 grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter. A brother, Robert, and two grandchildren, preceded him in death. Mr. Harman owned and operated Harman's Market for 23 years until its closing in 1970. He became an employee of Prestress Service, Inc. last August, after having worked for several years for Teeple Trucking Co. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church; Adams Post 43 of the American Legion; Decatur Masonic Lodge No. 571, F&AM; Fort Wayne Walley Scottish Rite; Mispah Shrine and the Calliopers; Moose Lodge and the Decatur Elks Lodge. Mr. Harman was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Zwick Funeral Home, Rev. Albert C. Nunery in charge, and burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Decatur Daily Democrat, Adams Co, IN; Wednesday, 20 February, 1980 Funeral services for Donald C. Harman, 56, 704 Elm St., will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Zwick Funeral Home, with Rev. C. Albert Nunery officiating. burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery and friends may call at the funeral home today and Thursday. He died at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Dave Terveer, Ed Coil, Dewey Alt, Al Plew, Robert Mutschler, Floyd (Orv) Reed, Larry Elliott, James Hunter, Hubert Schmitt, Jr., and Terry Holtsberry.
