Sheriff and Mrs. Cephus Melchi left today for Leo to attend the funeral of Mr. Melchi's brother, Nathan Melchi, who died Tuesday morning at 5:30 o'clock from apoplexy. He had been subject to severe pains in the head for years but the last fatal attack came upon him Monday evening about four o'clock, coming a a severe pain in the head. The brother, Cephus, of this city, was notified and arrived at his bedside about an hour before he died. The deceased was married and was the father of nine children, eight of whom are living, the youngest being less than a year of age. A son, Manford, it will be remembered, was killed in action in France last May 12. Mr. Melchi operated a threshing outfit and was well known in his community. Surviving brothers and sisters are: Albert and Charles, living at Convoy, Ohio, with their mother; William and John, of Sturgis, Mich.; Jane, in Washington; Sarah, in Hammond; Emma and Alice at Convoy, Ohio, and Mary, at Six Lakes, Mich. The funeral will be Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the Methodist church at Leo, with burial in the Leo cemetery. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
