He had been in failing health for several years and death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Stucky retired recently as manager of the Berne Lumber Co., and was a member of the First Mennonite Church. He was a member of the men's chorus of the church. He served two years in South America as a volunteer missionary. Mr. Stucky was a former top tennis player and won the Frank Dowling cup three years in a row. Born in Berne on September 24, 1909, he was the son of Otto and Cora Sprunger-Stucky, and was married in Berne on July 1, 1933, to Margaret Arnold, who survives. They were married 40 years. Also surviving are two children, John A., of Griffith, Ind.; and Mrs. Peter J. (Onale) Neufeld, of Berne; two sisters, Mrs. Curtis (Evelyn) Bedsworth, of Berne; and Mrs. James (Lillian) Fox, of near Berne; three brothers, Edward Stucky and Merlin D. Stucky, both of Berne, and Rev. Gerald Stucky who resides in South America; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Mennonite Church, Berne, with Rev. Kenneth Bauman officiating. Burial will be in the M.R.E. cemetery, Berne. Friends may call at the Yager funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
