He was born in Decatur Jan 15, 1913, a son of Homer and Nellie Emerson-Gause, and was married to Gertrude Womack April 7, 1934. The family had moved from Decatur only a few months ago. Mr. Gause was employed as a welder at the tile mill and formerly worked at the General Electric and Decatur Casting Co. Surviving are his wife; his mother; five children, Pfc. Forest Eugene Gause, with the air force in Korea, Beverly Sue, Homer Brice, Sharon Kay and James Allen, all at home; two brothers, Robert of Fort Wayne and Joseph of Akron, O., and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Thompson of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Harry Rowland of Rockford, O. Two sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Zwick funeral home, the Rev. Romaine Wood officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor cemetery.
