(Personal clipping) Will Observe Golden Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Barlett will observe their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Sunday Dec. 7 with open house and dinner at their home, eight miles west of Angola. The children of whom there are eight, will assist their parents in the serving of the dinner, and the reception will be held from 1 to 4 in the afternoon. The Barlett's were married at Uniondale by Rev. A.J. Douglas on Dec 6, 1891 and besides the eight children are the grandparents of 15 and the great grandparents of two children. Mr. Barlett was brought up in the home of Joseph Lewellen, a farmer living west of Uniondale; and Mrs Barlett grew up in the home of her grandmother, Mary Jefferies, who lived north of Fort Recovery, Ohio. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Fort Wayne News and Sentinel (Fort Wayne, Indiana) 1919 August 23 Dies at Daughters Home. (Special to the News) DECATUR, Ind. Aug 23. Sarah Jane White, aged 69, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Jacob Bartlett. who lives near Salem, death being due to old age. Mrs White was born in Piqua,0, Dec. 9, 1849, a daughter of James and Mary Jefferies. There are no members of her immediate family surviving. Funeral services were held today at the home. Rev. Mr. Stephenson of the Bobo M.E. Church officiating. The funeral cortege left for her old home at Macedonia O. where burial will take place in the Macedonia cemetery. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ NOTE: Tris is probably Macedon, Ohio about 25 miles south east of Decatur Indiana, NOT Macedonia in eastern Ohio. Macedon is about 5 miles north of Fort Recovery where Sarah Jane was raised by her Grandmother Mary Jefferies. There is a large cemetery 0.2 miles west of the community.
